Dale is afraid! His life seems to be falling apart around him but he is sure that somehow he can fix it. Despite his conviction, the choice is taken out of his hands. He can quit or go to the Falls Chance Ranch and stay until certified as recovered. Not knowing what he is committing to, Dale plans to continue working from the ranch for as long as he is there. Once he arrives everything is taken, right down to the basics and every moment of Dale's time is regulated. As he interacts with the people at the Falls Chance Ranch Dale learns about trust, the importance of not hiding his problems and the necessity of depending on others.
Yes, this is the story of Dale and his recovery after a horrendous breakdown. It is also so much more. There is a pirate, ghosts, and multiple spankings. There is also, what I believe, is an excellent depiction of a polyamorous family and Dominant-Disciplinary relationships. I am glad I read it and recommend it to anyone with an open mind.
