It was a delight experiencing McKenzie's change of heart most of which she learned by example. I would like to see the author include more living experiences instead of skimming over or avoiding them completely. I also have a hard time believing that when McKenzie arrived at her new home it was in the condition as stated. I can believe it would have seemed that way to her as compared to what she was used to but to believe Rosemary, who had been caring for them for years would not have done anything even to make the parlor more welcoming does not fit her character in my opinion. I am however looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
