I am passionate about hugs, reading books, and family. Hugs in all forms are necessary to life ♥ One of my favorite hugs is reading. Any book regarding any topic, any time. ☺
This was pretty good for a novella focusing mainly on the central romance and Niki DeVeraux's hunt for the monster that killed her family. The addition of family relationships, the King/Master vampire and his clan, assorted characters that are introduced and abandoned, and the werewolves that were only shown as raging out of control overwhelmed the limitations of a novella and would work better in a full length novel.
This is the best of the series so far. As a full novel there is much more happening and the series is set up for a major battle that has not yet occurred by the end of the sixth. I hope there will be, at least, one major novel remaining to wrap things up... I would hate to miss out on the battle where the women will be the protagonists in the battle of good versus evil.
Kelly's life is in danger and she is surrounded by hunky vampires. Even in her dreams. She dreams about Marc and... didn't want to give that away. Seriously though, despite the constant stress of trying to find where the danger lies this novella is filled with blood pumping, flaming hot sex, right up to the end.
This is a good novella for beginning a series. Just long enough to introduce the characters, just intriguing enough to set up the ongoing plot, and just hot enough to forget its winter, for a time.
I really enjoyed this sixth book of the Brotherhood of Blood series. Sally, never quite fitting in uses her differences to take charge and help others. A detective in San Francisco, Sally suffers from burn out and is taking a much needed vacation to visit Carly whom she hasn't seen since Carly's wedding. Then things get interesting.
Carly finds a whole new life waiting for her when she moves to Wyoming. Her nights are filled with erotic dreams of Dmitri. A new alliance is needed with the new owner of the property his lair is located under. The more he gets to know her the stronger his need for her grows.
It's too late... this series is in my blood. I have to read them all!
Wow! I just won a copy of this first time thriller courtesy of Jeff Westmont and Goodreads First Reads. I can't wait to read it when it arrives.
I've read the reviews and everything I felt has already been said so I will share this instead.
It was a delight experiencing McKenzie's change of heart most of which she learned by example. I would like to see the author include more living experiences instead of skimming over or avoiding them completely. I also have a hard time believing that when McKenzie arrived at her new home it was in the condition as stated. I can believe it would have seemed that way to her as compared to what she was used to but to believe Rosemary, who had been caring for them for years would not have done anything even to make the parlor more welcoming does not fit her character in my opinion. I am however looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
A very intense fast paced novel that left me wanting at the end. Definitely not a stand alone novel it should be read as part of a complete series. One, I might add, that I would hate to miss out on. I will be waiting to finish the rest of the story... not too long I hope.
Just what I was looking for: magic and mayhem; love, lust and betrayal; and an ending that was not what I expected. I will need to read more from Tarah Scott.
I found this story to be both insightful and humorous. Unlike the other Twilight parodies I have read or watched I did not find this one offensive. It was more like watching my daughter's favorite teenage soap operas, amusing in small amounts. The chapters are the perfect length for a quick burst of laughter as needed and reading it that way made the enjoyment last much longer.
A historical romance and yet much more. Two men, beset by worry become towers of strength when the women they love are distressed or endangered. Two women, friends and yet dependent on each other through the tragedies of life. Each of them falls in love with the strong, dependable man who loves her. Their love story is intertwined with the effects of failed mental health in their families; and the desperation of lost jobs and starving people caused by the mass production of factories. This story is not one to be missed.
Smalltown, America... To be more real than this you would actually have to be living there. Everyone is in your business and when times are hard those same people are still in your business...holding you up. I felt the laughter, frustration, anger, and even balled my eyes out when my heart was breaking. If you have never experienced it, read this book. Its time you did.
Some books are written to change lives, to expand awareness, and to destroy fears limitations. I found that here. Even the writing style is thought provoking and reflective of the story itself. Well worth reading and sharing.
